Nore Vision volunteers take part in an annual Eel monitoring project each summer with Inland Fisheries Ireland. As part of this project we host a workshop with Dr Rob Cruikshank, eel scientist, on the fascinating life of the European Eel Anguilla anguilla. Eels have an amazing life cycle which starts in their breeding ground in the Sargasso Sea and travelling across the Atlantic to rivers and streams like the Nore and its tributaries. Rob has enthralled audiences on the past few years with science and tales. The event will take place in Durrow on the Erkina during National Heritage Week
